pumpernickel bagel

i'm not sure about the pumpernickel bagel at steve's.  i love pumpernickel bread with butter (or olivio) ... but the bagel with cream cheese was a bit .. not quite right.  i think maybe buttered instead of cream cheese might work for the pumpernickel.  but i'm not really sure it works in the bagel world.
