I've heard some fundamentalist Christians say this.

But as I recently posted in my blog about science being the opposite of religion, the Bible says the earth is flat. If the Bible is literal word of God then he must be a God for some other world because this one ain't flat.

How can anyone say that the Bible is meant to be taken literally and that's it's the "Unerring Word Of God" when it has such obvious factually false information in it?

That really makes no more sense than me saying a page that has 2+2=5 (sorry for the 1984 reference, but it's always a goody) is the "unerring truth." It just isn't. It's wrong. If it's wrong then God didn't say it. END OF DISCUSSION. Seriously, there's not a debate here. YOU LOSE.
