smashing pumpkins - starz

not sure about this new album (zeitgeist) ... but trying to give it some open minded spins. i've read a lot of people talking about how high the vocals are in the mix and i'm definitely noticing that on this track. for a long time i've been annoyed by the pumpkins general production sound as it sounds too clean and artificial for my tastes. like all the corners are buffed off. ..

er, yes the vocals do seem a bit a loud in the mix. although the way the "we are stars" thing comes in all big is kind of cool actually - a bit of a weird thing to come in there.

***some time later when loud guitars come in*** (after the case edit, this part of the post is coming from the previous statement's future, this current reality's present, and your past... you see that's what they were really getting to with that christmas shit about the holy ghost of your pants or whatever, it's all one or the other or the other to sometime.)

it does come in like a pile of bricks there, that's pretty sweet. however all kids, i just don't know how i feel about it. it was enjoyable in it's way though.

(of course i am pretty high...)

Syd Barrett - Dominoes

I've never liked the tracks on the self titled album (Barrett) as much as the ones on Madcap Laughs. But for whatever reason man, maybe because I dont think I've listened to these tracks as much I am throwing on some "Dominoes" - you know... It sort of sounds like "So Happy Together" by The Turtles. Huh? It seems that way at the time.. what time? now.. shit. What's now anyway?

I'm getting a bit tired maybe, I feel like I should be making some magic clouds or something you know? It's hard to say but it does go there here doesn't it. Pretty cool. I'm digging this jazzy instrumental bitty with the backwards guitar and all. Very delicious.
