Reality Has A Liberal Bias
Reality and truth have a liberal bias. That's why conservatives have to make their own versions of things. They said that Wikipedia was liberally biased so they made uh.. what's it called? Conservapedia or something. And now they say the same thing about YouTube. Yes, YouTube has a liberal bias. So they've made their own version called QubeTV!
QubeTV
More Info:
QubeTV is a conservative-biased alternative to YouTube. The site was founded by former Ronald Reagan aides Charlie Gerow and Jeff Lord as a response to what is perceived to be a liberal bias on the part of YouTube. Cited among other claims of the liberal bias of YouTube is the alleged censorship of a video by right-wing personality Michelle Malkin about US immigration which was taken down by YouTube administrators. The Malkin video now has a prominent position on the frontpage of QubeTV and is described as "Banned by YouTube". The site has been compared to Conservapedia, a Christian conservative alternative to Wikipedia because, among other reasons, they both criticize a perceived bias and counter it with an explicit bias.
---
This is very similar to what conservatives have done in the past in the television news medium with Fox News. They criticized the perceived "liberal bias" of CNN and made their own news channel with an explicit bias, Fox News.
The strange thing is that the things they criticize as having a liberal bias usually in actuality have a conservative bias of their own, it's just not as pronounced as they would like it. For example the New York Times is often called a liberal newspaper but it's not truly liberal or progressive. It's just less conservative than the Rupert Murdochs of the world would like it to be. The New York Post (Murdoch owned) on the other hand is unabashedly conservative in it's viewpoint.

If by "Reality", you mean the global Info-tainment/Industrial Complex, then, yes, reality does have a liberal bias. And, OMG!!! I can't believe someone is challenging YouTube. You sound just like another "liberal" shouting at the rain...By blasting any competitor of YouTube as being "conservative-biased" you are basically affirming YouTube's liberal slant...by the way, I loved the 8-foot snowman asking presidential candidates' a question - real grown-up. And it certainly doesn't help YouTube's image that the debate was co-sponsored by CNN ("It's not news, it's CNN!). You gotta love CNN...today they posted a headline that read "Marijuana May Increase Psychosis Risk", but right in the middle of the article, it reads..."researchers said they couldn't prove that marijuana use itself increases the risk of psychosis...". But, yes, CNN is a liberal news outlet...apparently the only one who perceives that it isn't, is you. Perhaps reading CNN may increase the risk of psychosis and self-righteousness?
Yes, of course Fox News has a conservative bias - at least conservatives don't deny it...but how many other media outlets outside of radio talk shows- are "conservative"? (crickets...) Now take into account the "liberal" media outlets: ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, The NY Times, Wash Post, Reuters, BBC News...all of which account for an enormous amount of volume/coverage compared to small market or local media outlets.
I find it interesting that you used the NYT as an example of something "less-conservative" - a newspaper that is routinely used by idiotic celebrities to post full page rants and opinions as well as being riddled with plaigarists and an owner (Sulzberger) who has contributed enough money to democrats to rival the GNP of France. You summed it up yourself when you stated "The NYT is often called a liberal newspaper...". Yeah, it's "OFTEN" called that because IT IS!! According to your FUBARed barometer of conservativism, we could add Bono, Timothy Leary, Nancy Pelosi, France, and the Dixie Chicks to the list of all things "less-conservative".
What strikes me most of all is how upset you appear at the creation of a conservative media outlet...are we all supposed to bow down to our hippy-liberal overlords? Or is this still a country of free speech constantly defended so vigorously by the ACLU? Or is speech only free if liberals agree with it?..keep shouting and when liberals run this country into the ground as a failed nanny/welfare state, don't come crying to me. Oh, I know what you're gonna say "B-B-B-But George Bush!...The War!...Noone died when Clinton lied" (except the dozens of Serbs he bombed on the morning he announced his affair..and Oh Yeah - the 3000 Americans who died on 9/11 as a result of his crippling our military and intelligence communities).
Realty is perception, my friend. Its not a measurable quantity. And that perception is only as good as the outlet reporting it, so try to grow-up a little and just respect that for as long as there are liberals and conservatives, there will be bias in EVERYTHING and that it takes a keen mind to not get caught up in all the B.S. Gotta go work now - someone has to pay for your social welfare programs so you can play Peter Pan for the rest of your life. MPJ...Louisville
nice bunch of nonsense there anonymous. i like how you make note of something that is very conservative and foxnews like that CNN did as proof of them being "liberal" - a real liberal news outlet would never twist the facts around for an anti-marijuana agenda.
i am not a fan of any of the MSM outlets - in my opinion they all have a conservative bias, why? because they are all owned / controlled by corporate interests which are ... conservative interests. the interests of the very rich.
also your idea of a "conservative media" outlet to combat youtube... you see youtube is for EVERYONE to upload videos. the idea that you create an alternative where ONLY conservative viewpoints are allowed is somehow a matter of free speech? that's friggin ridiculous. it's a matter of reality denial.
Oh and no to Timothy Leary, he was a liberal. but those other guys? yeah - I'd say less conservative. true liberals are people that full on socialists economically and full on libertarians socially. that's how i get down. it's the most righteous and right (hah!, left?) way to live. brother. the most fair, and the most beautiful. it will work out for everyone. let's give it a try!
