Building This Website

The thing I like about a blog like this is - I feel like I am bulding this monster. This gigantic monster that may take over the universe. Now that may be a bit much really, a bit much to think. It may not make any sense because this website really has no purpose. It's not about anything. I can't stay focused even over the course of one entry much less two entries right in a row! For example, what the fuck is this entry about? It's about the site itself I suppose. The joy of website building. The joy of making blog posts. The joy of expousing my nonsense onto others. You know what the problem is though? There is so much ... there is so much stuff out there man. 6 billion people in the world and they all seem to have their own blog. Some of them are like me and have about 20 blogs. Ah yeah. Many of them are sort of undercover agents of satan like me. Sure I would like to start my own religion, but how do you start? I'm interested in Scientology because of that reason. The brainwashing aspect is interesting. Scientology is really interesting in that way, by the way, I highly recommend checking it out. Hell yeah infact... that's what my next entry will be about. but... let's get back to building websites for a bit. See I can focus, brother. Although I think CJ is great really... or should be.. it can be such a pain in the ass --- Why must I talk in maths? Karma Police?

Philip K Dick

Philip K Dick may be my favorite writer (if it's not Hermann Hesse)

Even if you haven't heard his name before you are probably familiar with some of Dick's work because many of his stories (he wrote many short stories) and novels have been made into well known movies.

Most recently A Scanner Darkly came out last summer which was based on the Dick novel by the same name.

Wait, I just realized this is way too much work.

But what I'm trying to say is - I love this dude's work. It's fantastic. I actually suggest starting off with his short stories because what I love most about Dick's work isn't so much his writing but his IDEAS.

Peanut Butter in Chili

I was thinking about maybe trying peanut butter in chili... what do you think? pretty good idea right? I think it's the texture that really puts me off the idea - but it might not be that bad, really...? I don't really think it would be good either though, so I don't think I'll try it. What about honey and/or brown sugar in chili? I think that's sort of a good idea. I like really spicy chili but I also sort of like a little sweetness in my chili from time to time. So I read that this one awful celebrity blog (I wont mention it's name or link to it out of fear of helping them get even more traffic) gets over 5 million.. MILLION unique visitors on a good day. I guess I should start a celebrity blog. too bad I hate that crap.

I always like to see what kind of things people are searching for to find my websites.. unfortunatly I'm not getting that much traffic at this site and I haven't got as many weird searches as I sometimes do... I've got "weird videos" of course.. "wierd videos" .. "pitchors of jesse mccartney to set as your background" (yes spelled like that...) "jerkoff pals" (this one is pretty interesting?) .. "proactol" this is a new diet drug that will kick your ass into thinness ;)

Fox News - Trying To Do Comedy On Purpose (Half Hour News Hour)

When Fox News isn't scaring the hell out of me, it can be quite hilarious.

But what's this? Now they are actually going to try and be funny on purpose? The fact that they are putting a comedy show on a supposed News network is... Pretty incredible. Anyway. They are going to try and do this I guess because of what they see as the "LIBERAL" Comedy Central programs the Daily Show and the Colbert Report.

how incredibly disgusting is this? the fact that it's not even close to being funny is a given. but how about the fact that they are starting their 2008 presidential campaigning so early? they know that people love Obama and so what do does Fox "News" have to start doing now? it's time to start smearing him and smearing him and smearing him some more.

Britney Spears Bald

I know I'm late talking about this "NEWS" ... it's come to my attention that CNN broke into their coverage to talk about how britney spears shaved her head. WTF? This isn't news. It's just some girl shaving her head. I mean that's the real thing here. It shouldn't be about whether a girl shaves her head. OK here's the damn problem:

#1 who cares if you shave your damn head or not.

#2 everyone has been waiting for her to "snap" anyway. she's probably tired of it. i mean life is unreal enough for your average american. imagine being in this poor girl's shoes. she probably has no sense of self at all.

#3 covering these sort of superficial events as if they are of much importance while barely covering many really important topics... hm. well it certainly feeds into the circle of ignorance we've got going here.

Very Expensive Item

People need to buy very expensive items in order to differentiate themselves from all of the "common folk" I'm going to be doing some subliminal messages soon. This is sort of a work up of it. I need to stop being so random and focus a bit. Really, these are some great ideas.

Story/Is It True?/Consciousness

Someone wakes up. They are not sure. They think they have. Again, what is the difference between randomness and infinity? This all makes sense doesn't it? But if there is infinite... then isn't this just one of those? Perhaps a more likely one, as it's actually happening. But... well... I suppose each reality has some sort of ... some of the unlikely that happen. As well. Most of what happens is probably pretty similar in each ... if it is true.

If you think about consciousness for awhile it's quite... bewildering to think about how we don't think about it more often. What is it, that you are referring to... when you say "I"? Developmental psychologists say that children don't really develop this concept of an "I" until they are a couple of years old. This is an explanation for why people have very few if any memories from their first couple of years.

What am I getting at? Well if you think about the mind as just these... signals being shot back and forth... you know... *I* is in there ... isn't it just some sort of... combination of these signals being shot back and forth that somehow gives us this illusion that we are conscious and that we are making some decisions. If you think about some sort of true form of Artificial Intelligence it really brings into question everything... if a computer can become aware of itself and "think" of itself as an I... what does that mean about us? Does that mean what we think of as being so precious... our very consciousness.

It's very hard to put into words what I'm trying to get across here... but what we call "I" isn't any one thing but is the actual action of thinking. I believe that thinking is what really creates an *I* ... it's why people who aren't very thoughtful have such a weak sense of identity and are so easily manipulated.

There's more my friends... this is endlessly interesting to me - to me it gets to the very heart of existance. What we percieve you know... it's all percieved as this awareness... this consciousness... whatever it is. So it's hard to make any sense of reality without some sort of sense of what our consciousness really is in the first place.

I like the idea of someone reading this

I was thinking about something just now, really just now, it just happened. It's like this: .. hold on let me explain to you what I mean. When I started writing this post I didn't really have much of an idea of what I was going to write about except that I like the idea of someone reading my insanity and then I got this idea and this is the idea, alright? Are you ready? OK well what I want to do is to actually write messages directly to people so that when people "Google themselves" my message to them will show up. I mean for example... I find a name... It has to be a name that isn't a celebrity, isn't too common (ie "John Smith") but also isn't so rare that it'd never be found...

So who should I write my first message to?

You know what, scratch that idea...

or maybe I'll come back to it... but for now I just had a better idea.

Wii Pains

So now we have a Wii. Not sure if I'm going to get rich anymore because of it. It's a good workout. The boxing and all of that. So far I haven't had any luck with the racing game. It's too hard to control I think. Maybe it's my driving skills.

So one thing about the Wii is you can buy old games and play them. Like the original Zelda from the first Nintendo. It's a real flashback. I played it all the time back ... 17 or 18 years ago. So it's really amazing like how much of it is coming back to me when I'm playing it again. One thing I find about some of the newer 3D games is that ... while I can see how the world can be really immersive I also find that they are sort of... It's hard to know what you're even supposed to be doing a lot of the time. But with the old school games you're always moving toward something. I think in that way they retain their playability better. Because i find this original Zelda game still quite enjoyable. I don't know if I could even get into playing the new Zelda as it would just be too much time to put into it, just to figure out how to do the basic stuff. I guess that's good for people who want to spend all day playing video games, but I don't. I really just want it as something to do every once in awhile. I'm worried that it's a bit addictive. In fact now, instead of doing all of the things I need to do, I kind of want to play it.

Creativity

I like the idea of using this blog as an outlet for creativity. But often it's very much like some sort of caffeine driven insanity that probably means little to anyone. But still, an an outlet is an outlet. I do a lot of stuff online. I have a lot of websites I try to keep updated. Most of them are purely for money as I'm an online marketer as my "profession." And yes I make my living doing this so, if you go through this blog and see any recommendations I've made in that area, you may be interested to take a listen or three.

But this blog, while I do have AdSense and all of that on it... It isn't so much to make money, I don't go out of my way to make money with this website - that's more of a side effect possibility.

Really with this blog I just want to inflict my madness on your soul.

Pretentious

I've long been annoyed by the use of the word "pretentious" in America.

It seems to me this word is completely misused from it's real definition and is instead used as a derogatory statement on anything that is not a part of the lowest common denominator "pop culture" that makes up America. I think the thing that really bothers me about is that it seems like to these people that use this term in this way, thinking itself is a crime. Thinking itself is a negative trait. It is much better to these to be another cog in the stupid machine than to actually think about anything.

This term is often used to describe any sort of "weird" or "intellectual" music. You know that weird stuff that doesn't exist merely for a catchy melody or a good beat. It's as if these imbeciles think that anyone who is actually interested in thinking is doing it just to prove a point or something rather than the fact that they just enjoy stuff on a different level.

People that don't like crap like American Idol aren't being pretentious, they just have taste. They just crave something with a bit more depth to it. This sort of hatred of intelligence belongs in middle school.

People that don't like dumb hollywood movies aren't being pretentious, they just have taste.

I'm just completely sick of the glorification of dumb crap in this country.
