Science Is Not A Religion, It Is The Opposite Of A Religion.I bring up this important fact because one of the more annoying "points" that is often presented by creationists is that science is just another religion except with faith in scientific facts instead of with faith in God and the Bible (or Koran or whatever, it doesn't matter. These types of religions are all interchangeable, I'll get to that more later.)
This "point" is of course complete bullshit. It's completely illogical (imagine that? lack of logic from a Bible beater?) to compare a "faith" with the act of trying to gain knowledge of the world around you. The point is science isn't about having faith in any particular answer, it's about trying to find the right answer. Huge huge difference. This is why science is not just another religion, it's in fact, the complete opposite of religion. Remember the Bible says the earth is flat.
Isaiah 11:12
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the
FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.Remember that when SCIENTISTS first found from their RESEARCH that the earth is in fact not so flat after all, the Bible beaters said they were evil and all the rest. Same old same old. This is the exact same situation right now with evolution. The only difference is that because evolution is a much more complicated phenomena than the roundness of the earth, it takes a certain level of logical capability to understand it. Unfortunately those who are raised with religious beliefs do not have the ability to think logically thus they are unable to understand the scientific merit of evolution. You can tell this by the incredibly simplistic and incoherent attacks that creationists make on evolution. It's quite clear they have no understanding of it.

I wanted to make further note on my earlier comment on there being no difference between the different religions (the Bible, the Koran, whatever...) and while of course there are some minor difference between Christians, Muslims, and Jews they are really pretty much all the same deal. Remember they all come from the same place. They were all Jews then Jesus came and some of them became Christians then Muhammad came and some of them became Muslims and so on and so forth.
These religions are all similar in that they take on faith writings that are 1000s of years old. They take on faith facts about the universe even when they clearly go against all observable evidence. They are more interested in religion and spirituality (and yes these are two completely different things.) More interested in order and what's "morally" right than any sort of real connection between people and whatever else there may be.
They are all very similar to each other. And each of these religions is the polar opposite of science. You see science isn't a religion, it's just testing and observing the world around you. Trying to figure out how things work. See this is completely different than knowing something from faith. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. If you can't see this than your logical capabilities are destroyed.

Final Advice: Please don't ever say that evolution is "just a theory." When you say this it makes you look like a complete moron. Please look up what the word "theory" means in the context of science. Please realize that the "theory" of Gravity is also "just a theory." While theory of Gravity is
merely a theory I'll bet you are pretty confident you are not going to fly off the earth anytime soon.
---
If you somehow didn't get that. Let me try to get you to understand another way. Evolution itself isn't a theory. We know that evolution happens. The theory is about how it happens. That's what science is trying to establish. Just as gravity itself is not a theory. We know that gravity happens. How it happens is "just a theory." Scientific research is about trying to find out how things happen and also about discovering things that happen. We've already discovered that Gravity and Evolution happen. These things are facts. HOW they happen is a bit more complicated obviously.
Please tell me you get it?
Put down your Bible. Turn on your mind. That's right my brothers & sisters, I think it's time.
That little quote made me think of a couple more issues that I should tackle. One is the fact that one of the ways Religion controls peoples minds is by telling them that "Satan" (or whatever) is trying to entice them with knowledge or whatever. It basically tells them not to think. Thinking is extremely dangerous to any religion.
The other is that I am not an atheist. I thought I would point that out not because I have anything against atheists, I was one for awhile myself. I think they are often brilliant people and usually quite logical (which I like) and interesting (which I love.)
I say that I am not an atheist because I'm sure that the Bible beaters that read this will BELIEVE that I am an atheist and I always like to point out the fallacies in what these folks believe. I am in fact an agnostic theist. Which means that I personally believe in something (we use the word "God" but I don't think I mean it like Bible beaters do) I just don't think it can be proven that this something exists. Nor can it be proven that it doesn't exist.
I don't let this belief in this "something" get in the way of my logical thinking. I don't let it stop me from wanting to understand the world. I just think there may be something. I don't know what it is and I know logically that I may be wrong because what I believe is not based in logic. It's just a feeling. That's fine. People have feelings. I just worry when those feelings are implanted as they are in Religion. I think then that people do not have the chance to genially feel anything real. To really explore whatever it is. Well I feel I'm going off course a bit. I will go deeper into this later. My point is I do in fact believe in some form of a "higher being" or more accurately a "universal being." One does not have to believe in a guy in the sky to be a spiritual person, in fact they seem almost mutually exclusive to me.
