I don’t really have much to say about this. I have to assume that whoever put this up, put it up as a joke. If it was a joke, it’s a good one. I’m giggling. But of course it’s even more fun to think there is some lunatic out there that really thinks he’s found a lost cat.

Thats a possum, and i’ve seen a copy of this with the mobile number on it. It was apparently posted by some UNI students who had never seen one before.
Our dogs use them as toys when they come into our back yard. If they are Virginia Opossums why is it I have found them in the following states: IN;KY;TN;TX;OK;AR;LA;CO;NC;SC;WI;IL;GA;WV;AZ;NY;NJ;UT;ID;NM;MO;NV;OH;MI;MN;WA and MD. I had the opportunity to see such creatures during my military tour through the above mentioned states. Go ahead with your bad selves. Arty

I taught photoshop for a year and I can tell you that the reason it looks pixellated is because of bad jpeg quality, not because of digital alterations.
This is really funny. Hopefully a fake too. But you never know. There are a very large amount of idiots in the world and I’m sure at least a few would think “AWWW KITTY!” if they were to see an opossum. Yeah, an opossum. My dogs used them as toys, too. Once they tired of the game, they brought the (by now headless) bodies into the house to lay at my feet. The dogs would look up at me, wagging their tails, proud of bringing me such a wonderful gift.

I found a baby possum one time awhile back.It was just a bitty thing so I brought it home.My cat had just given birth to a litter so I put it in there and she just mothered it real good and took care of it just as if it was her own.It got older and started to act more like a possum than a cat so I put it outside,but it stayed around the place.
One day I went outside and saw it laying on the ground.I thought it was playing possum but it was not,it was dead.I think my dog Dawg killed it.

It’s a joke. There is NO WAY a person has nabbed a live grown possum without getting eaten up. They are vicious, mean, have sharp teeth and claws and WILL bite you.

RIP gary the possum. I used to have a possum in my apartment siding. One summer day we noticed flies. Exterminator came and found tail in liqid slime of decomposed possum. Yummy!
Pleez, this is not an opossum,it’s an asspossum, they have one attached to both ends of their body- sh:t goes in,sh:t comes out- especially when you lock-up your breaks on one.

Sure it’s an opposum if you ask some professor but if you ask anyone in the eastern USA that’s been outdoors more than 5 minutes in their lives and they’re going to call it a possum. BTW people here in the good old USA ate a lot of possum back during the depression. They were even introduced in western states as a source of food. I’ve known of outdoorsmen types that still fix them from time to time. But get a few copies of Jesse Stuart books and you’ll find lots of stories of catching possums for dinner. I’ve also known of extremely poor types to stop and pick them up as roadkill for dinner. True that. And no I’ve never eaten any possum but those Aussies (some of them anyway) eat real cats and not the funny looking kind. BTW they will play possum too so they are VERY easy to catch.
People eat them now, now armadillos are kinda tough.

Susie… They DO hang from their tails. They don’t sleep that way, because the tail’s strength lies in muscles within it. Muscles relax when you sleep, and that would result in the possum falling out of the tree. The tail however, IS a prehensile tail, and therefore by definition it is able to grasp and hold onto things, including suspending the creature from a tree limb.
Ratman said that the number is some viral marketing number (or something like that, I believe). How did you see the number? On the picture I’m looking at, the number has been blacked out with a permanent marker…
