George Carlin

As I’m sure most of you already know, George Carlin died over the weekend. I usually think it’s a little strange to get to upset over a celebrity death, particular when the celebrity is over 70 years old. But George Carlin was a great comedian and seemed to be a great man from what I know of him. I feel sad that he has passed away for many reasons. One of which is quite selfish, I won’t get to hear any new jokes from him. But he did leave a lot of great material behind. 14 HBO specials, Jerry Seinfeld was saying how he only has done 2 and most comedians never do more than 3 or 4. That Carlin did 14 is an amazing example of just how much great funny material he had in him. He was one of those guys that really saw the truth (like Bill Hicks) … Carlin was more than just funny, he was a truth-teller in a world of lies.
