Central Park Tree

As mentioned previously I was out & about in Manhattan on Saturday and one of the places we visited was Central Park. I thought this tree was rather groovatious and took a photo of it. ENJOY CENTRAL PARK TREE!

Manhattan Sidewalk Drawings

Let's see where was this? Around 11th street and 6th avenue I think... but that may not be right. But it's somewhere around that area. Might have been 5th avenue actually? On saturday (that's April 28th of 2007 my brothers & sisters) we came across these chalk drawings on the sidewalk. Pretty elaborate really. I thought it was pretty cool that someone put so much effort into these when they would surely all be gone the next time it rains or after enough people walk over top. Also knowing that 95% of people won't notice it because it's not an expensive purse in a fancy store or a Derek Jeter jersey. Which brings me to the whole "too cool for ..." mentality of your average New Yorker. I've been here for almost 5 years now and it's something I try to avoid. I think there's so much going on you know that you can't respond to all of it. But I do try to be open to things, to appreciate them. I mean why not? What else are we here for?

Episcopal Church In Manhattan

I was walking around Manhattan on Saturday with my lady friend (yes someone as weird as me actually has a lady friend) and I took some photos of some things that I found interesting. Oh by the way, Have I even ever mentioned on this blog that I live in Brooklyn? I don't know if I have. I know this is perhaps strange, for me now, to be acting so personable with you, my loyal WeirdBiz readers... but it's time. It's time I show you the other side, my friends.

So anyway, here's the photo I took of this message in front of the Episcopal Church... I just thought this was kind of funny. I'm not sure why. I don't really know what they are referring to but it seems super silly, as religion usually does. When it's not scary as hell I mean.
