The Beatles Remastered CDs (Stereo & Mono)

I don’t remember if I’ve talked much about my obsession with The Beatles on this website. It’s hard for me to remember much of anything these days. What’s real? Man, what’s real? But what I’m getting at is that on 09/09/09 the remastered versions of the Beatles albums are going to be released on CD. This will be the first remastering since they were originally put on CD in the 1980s.

And for the first time ever the original mono mixes of The Beatles albums (up through The White Album) are being released on CD. Back when these albums were recorded mono was considered the standard so a lot more thought and energy was put into the mono mixes than the stereo mixes (which were just sort of thrown together in comparison.) So the mono mixes could be considered to be the “real” original versions of these albums.
