Windows 7
This is a public service announcement: I just downloaded and installed the beta version of Windows 7 (64 bit version) and … It’s awesome.
I don’t normally install beta versions of a new OS but Vista has been driving me crazy with so many problems that I decided to try Win 7 after hearing so many good things about it. But realistically I figured I’d just be trading one set of problems for another.
So far it’s been like a dream. Everything is working perfectly, all of the problems I was having (and they were big problems like really important programs not working and my wireless internet being totally screwed) have gone away.
Windows 7 = Awesome. Here’s hoping that Microsoft doesn’t find some way to screw it up.
For those interested in the details: my build # is 7077 and I downloaded it off the torrents. I actually got the key directly from Microsoft’s site so they seem to be OK with people testing the beta out in this way. And let me tell you, I would gladly pay for this OS as soon as it’s for sale because it’s really really nice to have a computer that just plain works.
